Letters of recommendation at Wentworth are optional.  If applicants would like to submit a letter of recommendation, we will accept up to two recommendations from guidance counselors, teachers, employers, or coaches. Email letters of recommendation to admissions@wit.edu.

The official transcripts of secondary education must bear an official signature, in ink, of the appropriate official of your school, such as the registrar or recorder of records. They must also bear the institution's seal.

If the documents are in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by official English translations.

Official transcripts, secondary school exams and English translations can be submitted by any of the following methods:

• Naviance or Parchment Exchange: If your secondary school (high school) uses Naviance or Parchment Exchange, then your school can upload transcripts and/or secondary school exams electronically through the Common Application. Documents received electronically through Naviance or Parchment Exchange are considered official.
• Email: Your counselor or your teacher may email copies of your transcripts directly to admissions@wit.edu with an official school email account. Please note that we do not accept transcripts as official unless they are sent directly from the school.
• Mail: The institution can mail the original official transcripts and English translations to Wentworth:

All students who will be studying on an F-1 Student Visa are required to submit financial documentation at the time of application. Once you have submitted your application, you will be prompted to submit a Preliminary Declaration of Finances in your Admissions Portal confirming available funds in the amount of $25,000 ( funds can be in the form of savings deposits, checking accounts, or a signed bank letter). 

These documents can be unofficial at this time. Please note that this is an unofficial preliminary declaration of finance form. An official form demonstrating full tuition and expense costs will be required at the time of issuing an I-20.

Admission at Wentworth is contingent upon ability to provide above documentation.

• Official college transcript(s)
• Wentworth Institute of Technology requires that applicants with coursework or degrees from a non-U.S. university have their transcript evaluated for potential transfer credit. Students must obtain a professional transcript evaluation from one of the following companies and order a Course-by-Course Report
  • Center for Educational Documentation (CED)
  • World Education Services, Inc. (WES)
  • SpanTran
• All transfer students (U.S. and non-U.S. universities) must also provide a catalog or syllabus form each post-secondary school attended containing course descriptions for all classes completed. If the documents are in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by the official English translations. All records should indicate the number of lecture and/or laboratory hours per week and the grade received for each course.

• All applicants for whom English is not a first language must show proof of English proficiency. Please see the English Proficiency Requirements for complete details.
• Please note that official results of the TOEFL must be sent directly to Wentworth through the Educational Testing Service (ETS) or the College Board. Wentworth's school code is 3958. If you choose to take the IELTS exam official results must be sent to the school. Photocopies and scans are not acceptable.

We would love to get to know you and hear your unfiltered voice. As a result, international applicants are welcome to schedule a one-on-one session with our international admissions counselor to talk about your academic interests, extracurricular activities or ask any questions you have about Wentworth.

You can also demonstrate your communication skills and ability to converse about academic topics through InitialView, which conducts an unscripted conversation and proctors an open-ended writing sample. Learn more about InitialView.

Both SAT and ACT scores are NOT required for international applicants. If you do wish to submit your official scores we will be glad to add them to your file. Please note scores must be sent directly from the College Board or ACT to be considered official.

If you are admitted and accepted to Wentworth, we will send you information on obtaining an I-20 application which will allow you to apply for your visa.

For the I-20 you will need:

• A copy of your passport biographical page
• Declaration of Finances: International applicants must complete the Declaration of Finances and document their ability to meet all educational and personal expenses. Wentworth is required by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to verify the financial resources of students prior to issuing a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20). Although students are permitted to work on campus during the academic year, they should not expect employment to be a significant means of support while attending Wentworth Institute of Technology. Need-based financial aid is not available to international students.
• Bank Letter in English and less than 6 months old on bank letterhead and providing proof of total funding to USD $64,818. We suggest you get at least 2 original letters as you will need them for your visa as well. See example.
• Additional requirements for international SEVIS transfer students
  • If you are currently in the United States on an F-1 Visa, please complete this SEVIS Transfer-In-Form and give it to your current International Student Advisor to return to Wentworth as soon as possible
  • Please download the most recent I-94 record and send it back to Wentworth

International students are eligible to work on-campus through our Leopard Work program, though positions are not guaranteed. You will not be able to secure an on-campus job before the start of class, but there will be a job fair in the first few weeks of semester for you to learn about various Wentworth job options.  

Students who have taken AP or IB courses in secondary school may receive credit for these classes at Wentworth. This advanced academic standing could allow you to more easily have a double major, graduate early, or start your 4+1 Double Leopard (bachelors and accelerated masters) early, saving time on your studies and therefore saving money.
