International Student Services

Welcoming the World to Wentworth

Wentworth’s International Student Services (ISS) helps our more than 300 non-immigrant students—representing approximately 55 countries—make a successful transition to living and learning in America. To ensure a smooth start, we recommend that all international students who are new to Wentworth contact ISS as soon as they arrive on campus. Our walk-in advising hours are:

  • Monday – 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday – 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Friday – 10:30 a.m. to noon

ISS begins working with you before you even get here, by helping you with such issues as maintenance of legal status in this country, work authorizations, and travel to the U.S. Then, once you arrive on our campus, we provide a special orientation for international students. Other programs include the International Student Career Workshop and the Around the World Intercultural Celebration, which is open to the entire Wentworth community.

Throughout the academic year, ISS collaborates with the Admissions Office, the Office of Student Affairs, academic departments and the Colleges of the Fenway to ensure our international students can access the support, resources and opportunities they deserve.

Travel considerations for international students

If you are an F-1 international student traveling outside of the U.S. during school vacation, be sure to carry the following documents when returning to the U.S.:

  • Passport valid for at least six months
  • Valid F-1 visa
  • Wentworth Form I-20 signed within six months/one semester
  • Financial documentation

If you need a new travel signature on your I-20, please submit to the Student Service Center:

If registration for the next semester has begun, you must be registered in order to travel. Please allow two business days for our office to process your request for a travel signature. If you have any questions or will be traveling in fewer than two days, contact us at iss@wit.edu.
