Wentworth Surpasses 'Get on Board!' Challenge Goal
Wentworth Institute of Technology officials are proud to announce that the Institute has surpassed its fundraising goal of 1,000 new gifts as part of the “Get on Board!” Challenge.
A total of 1,322 gifts were contributed before the June 30 deadline, which triggers an additional $100,000 contribution by the Wentworth Board of Trustees and Corporators.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone who donated to the ‘Get on Board!’ Challenge,” said President Zorica Pantić. “Your donations help continue the great work of the Institute and ensure that our students will continue to receive the best education possible. I am very proud of our community for rising to this challenge.”
The challenge began on April 1, with alumni, students, parents, and even the Wentworth Leopard reaching out to the community. President Pantić herself memorably decided to “get on board” to raise awareness of the challenge. New gifts of any size were counted toward the goal of 1,000.
All donations to the “Get on Board!” Challenge went toward the annual fund—now called the Wentworth Fund, which raises essential funds that the Institute can apply wherever needs are greatest, including financial aid, academics, student services, housing, athletics, clubs, and infrastructure.
“This was a wonderful way to end our fiscal year and engage new alumni support for the Wentworth Fund,” said Paula Sakey, vice president for institutional advancement. “The foresight and support of our trustees and corporators in developing this challenge sends a positive message to alumni, parents, and friends about the importance of participation and giving back.”
While the “Get on Board!” Challenge is now over, donations can always be made by visiting wit.edu and clicking on the “Donate Now” button on the left-hand side of the page, or by clicking on this link.
