Boston, MA – August 9 , 2006 – On August 2, 2006, a Sigma Beta Delta Chapter Induction Ceremony was held at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Four Wentworth Seniors; Jena-Lynn Beauregard, Meghan DiPietro, Nicolas Legare and Jonathan Montes, along with three Wentworth Juniors; Joseph Bozek, Matthew LaCorte and Vincent Spagnuolo, were inducted to Sigma Beta Delta.
These students were identified by Wentworth management faculty as being in the top 20 percent of their class, and invited to join Sigma Beta Delta, which is the highest national recognition that management faculty can offer. Overall, 13 management students have been honored since 2004.
Wentworth President Dr. Zorica Pantic was made an Honorary Member of Sigma Beta Delta at the Ceremony, joining Former President John Van Domelen who was inducted in March 2004.
Sigma Beta Delta follows a two hundred year tradition of honoring scholastic achievement in higher education; a tradition that began with the establishment of Phi Beta Kappa in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1776.
Sigma Beta Delta, the initials which form the name of the Society, are derived from the first letters of Greek words; Wisdom, Honor and Aspirations. Sigma Beta Delta, which was founded in 1994, encourages and recognizes wisdom through outstanding scholarship and achievement among students of business, management and administration. The Society encourages and promotes aspirations towards professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.
Members have lifetime recognition for their outstanding academic achievements and are eligible to compete for the Society’s fellowship awards to assist in continuing their education.
Congratulations to all of Wentworth’s new Sigma Beta Delta Members. |
