Commuting to Wentworth

Below is information for all those who wish to walk, bike, ride, roller, skate, jump, dance, or drive their way to Wentworth.

Overnight Resident Parking

The fee for an overnight permit is $400.00 dollars per academic semester. The East Lot (located opposite 540 Parker Street in front of the IRA Allen Building) has been assigned as the Overnight Parking Lot. Due to the limited amount of parking on campus, first and second year students will not be allowed to purchase an overnight parking permit to park on campus. Overnight Parking Permits are sold on a residential lottery basis to upper classman or students who are on Coop (living on campus) first. (There is absolutely no overnight Parking in the West Parking Lot).

Commuter Parking

The fee for a commuter permit is $200.00 dollars per academic semester; the permit is valid from the hours of 7:00am to 10:00pm daily. Parking is available in the Ira Allen Lot, Parker Street Lot and Sweeney Lot. Additional parking is available in the West Lot after 3:00pm. Questions regarding parking should be directed to Public Safety at 617-989-4400.

Commuter Lockers

Commuter students may use a locker for the academic year at no charge by registering with Commuter Student Services (Beatty 013). Once registered, you will receive a combination to your locker. You must keep the existing lock on the locker and not switch it out with your own lock. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action. Lockers are available in Wentworth Hall, Rubenstein, Annex, Watson and Beatty. Gymnasium lockers are not available.

Wentworth is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal property that is kept in lockers. If something is taken from your locker, inform Public Safety. Occasionally lockers are moved from one area or replaced with newer ones. The Student Life Office will notify you of any changes.

Commuter Voicemail

A voice mailbox is available for commuter students if they want it. To apply for a voice mailbox, commuter students should e-mail their requests to Charlene Roy at Include your student identification number and your name in your request. You must come to the Business Services office with your validated Fenway Card to pick up your number. The service is free to commuter students.

Instructions for using voice mail are available at the DTS Helpdesk.

Public Transportation

Wentworth is just off the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) stop on the E Branch of the Green Line Subway system. The "T" as it is better known, can also be accessed on Huntington Avenue via the Longwood stop. The Office of Commuter Student Services sells discounted MBTA Semester Passes. Contact them directly at 617-989-4487. For more information on Boston public transportation, visit the MBTA website.

Where to go when on campus

Wentworth Commuters spend about 70% of their time in classes. When they are not there, they spend their time in various locations across campus. The new Flanagan Campus Center in Beatty Hall holds the Cafeteria, snack bar, fitness center, lounge space, Library, computer labs, and the Leopard Den's Billiard Room. The Billiard Room contains a big screen TV, pool tables, and WI-FI. The Library, and open classrooms are also popular places for our commuter students to gather between classes.
