Using Course Management Systems

Using the Blackboard Course Management System has allowed me to remain “in contact” with my students after the class has ended for the day in that they have 24/7 access to selected handouts, notes, assignments and links that will assist them in their work.

I must admit I was somewhat skeptical when first asked to consider using Blackboard. I expressed the typical concerns most first-time users might have had – security, system availability, and usability, but those were quickly alleviated after LTS provided me with a brief training.

I now have all of my courses on the Blackboard CMS site and have tied in Blackboard with Lconnect so that my students have direct access to their class materials via a click from within their Wentworth account.

I have yet to explore all of the possibilities of a Course Management System, but I cannot envision developing any of my classes without this CMS. And I believe my students have and will continue to benefit by its use.
