Rebecca Petersen joins Learning & Development

We are pleased to welcome Rebecca Petersen as the Director of Faculty Development. Rebecca joins us from Lesley University where she was the Director of eLearning Resources and Professional Development and also faculty in the Graduate School of Education.
At Lesley, Rebecca was responsible for a variety of faculty development initiatives designed to support faculty in both their scholarship and teaching practice. Some of her projects included: establishment of a seed grant program for teaching innovation, development of a faculty fellows program for eLearning, and the creation of face-to-face and virtual faculty development programs for both adjuncts and full-time faculty.
Outside of her work at Lesley, Rebecca has consulted with other colleges and universities on building faculty development programs. She recently worked with both the University of Maine-Farmington and Quinnipiac University on the design of a social media awareness series for faculty.
She will be working with Faculty, Department Chairs and Deans to support the integration of interdisciplinary, project-based, and student oriented curricula and also help with the meaningful integration of technology.
Rebecca is originally from Nebraska, relocating to Massachusetts 15 years ago to complete her Master’s Degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has a BA in American History from Nebraska Wesleyan University and is completing her Ed.D in Organizational Leadership at Northeastern. She lives in Medford with her husband and two children.
Rebecca can be reached at petersenr1@wit.edu and her office is located in the Central Annex, Room 208.
