
- Give the question a title so that you can distinguish it once it is in your question database. This Title will be visible to students unless you change the default in Assessment Settings.
- Type in the Question text. Insert an equation if needed. You may insert an image for this
question by clicking Browse.

- Next to Select mode, select One answer.

- In the Answer text boxes, enter the answers.
- For the correct answer, select Correct response. It is not necessary to enter a Value (%).
- For incorrect answers, enter a negative percent value in the Value (%) text box, if you want to
penalize for wrong answers (negative scoring).
- If negative scoring is not allowed, leave the value in the Value (%) text box as 0.
If you want to provide students with feedback about an answer, in the Feedback text box, enter text
feedback. If you want to create additional answers, click Create Additional Answers. The screen
updates and another Answer field displays.

- Next to Answer layout, select Vertical or Horizontal.
- Next to Answer labels, select whether the answers should be identified by Numbers or Letters.
- Next to Randomize answer ordering, select Yes to randomize the order of the multiple choice answers each time the question appears in an assessment. To maintain the order of the answers in which you entered them, select No.
- As there is only one correct answer, you do not need to select a Grading scheme.
- To enable negative scoring for incorrect answers, next to Allow negative score, select Yes.
- To make incorrectly answered questions worth 0%, next to Allow negative score, select No.

More Options
In the General feedback text box, enter the text feedback. The general feedback displays when students view their graded assessment. Section Designer notes will only be visible to you.
