Columbia Construction Company Scholarship
Two annual awards for $2,500 each will be distributed from the fund for students majoring in architecture, civil engineering and construction management, who are interested in working as a project manager in construction management. This scholarship is for one semester.
In order to be considered for the Columbia scholarship, applicants must complete and submit the following items to the financial aid department, no later than April 13, 2012 (12:00 noon): Complete the application form, attach with typed essay and reutrn to the Student Service Center
Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program
To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay on the topic provided please visit their website for complete details. The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words.

National Education
National Education, in partnership with US Bank, is excited to offer enrolled and potential freshman the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship.
Forty $1000 scholarships will be awarded, There are no long forms or essays to complete. Winners will be chosen in a random drawing in April. The deadline to apply is March 31st, 2012. Scholarship winners will be notified and proceeds will be sent to the college or univeristy.

National Association of Women in Construction Scholarship
NAWIC NEW HAMPSHIRE
The Granite State Chapter #218 of The National Association of
Women in Construction will be accepting applications for our annual scholarship.Requirements for this scholarship are as follows:
1. New Hampshire resident (male or female).
2. A). Must be entering final year of program if in a two-year school. B). Must be entering Junior or Senior year of a four-year school.
3. Grade point average of C or better (photocopy of transcripts must be attached to application).
4. Must be majoring in a construction related field, i.e. engineering, electrical, plumbing, carpentry or general construction, etc.
5. An essay of approximately 150 words stating why student has chosen the construction industry for their career.Applications should be postmarked no later than April 1, 2012 in order to be considered. Notification of award will be made by June 1, 2012.

Reading Scholarship Foundation Inc.
The Reading Scholarship Foundation Inc. (RSF) provides financial assistance to selected students who are continuingtheir full-time education. The amount of these awards is determined primarily on the basis of need. The applicant’s, as well as the family's, financial resources are considered in this decision. Financial information is scored by DOLLARS forSCHOLARS®, a program of Scholarship AmericaSM, using information you provide to them based on the attachedSuggested Parent Contribution Questionnaire (SPCQ). The eligibility requirements for RSF are on the first page of the attached Student Application.
Overview
Wentworth Institute of Technology's financial aid award is offered as a "package" which can consist of a combination of scholarships, grants, loans and employment. By following the application procedures, you will be considered for all aid which you qualify for. You will be notified of your eligibility in the form of an award letter, which will clearly outline the types and amounts of each program you are eligible for. You may be offered assistance from one or more of the programs below.
Merit Award Scholarship
Wentworth offers merit-based scholarships in addition to need-based aid. All applicants are automatically considered for Merit Awards - no additional application is necessary. Merit Scholarships range from $1000 to $20,000 for the entering class of Fall 2012. The Merit evaluation is determined by the Admissions Office and begins in mid-January. The scholarship may be renewed for up to five years, depending on the length of the recipient’s bachelor’s degree program. Recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 classrom credits) and maintain a 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA. Graduate students are not eligible for the Merit award scholarship.
Wentworth Community Scholarship
Eligibility for this scholarship is determined by Wentworth’s Community Scholarship Committee. It is open to returning students who show a significant commitment to the Wentworth Community through involvement in social, administrative, charitable and athletic activities. An eligible student must have completed four semesters and been enrolled full-time while maintaining an institutional cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Interested students should send a letter documenting their activities to the Community Scholarship Committee c/o the Student Service Center. Recipients must re-apply every year. Maximum award: $2500.
National Commission for Cooperative Education National Co-op Scholarship Program
Applicants who have been accepted to Wentworth by February 15 are eligible to apply for one of twenty NCCE scholarships of $6000 each. These awards are renewable if you are enrolled full-time and maintain an institutional cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Visit the NCCE website for the application and information on this scholarship.
Institutional (Endowment) Scholarships
Wentworth will also offer additional scholarships to qualified individuals based on specific criteria (e.g. geographic location, intended major, etc). Descriptions of specific scholarships can be found in the Financial Aid section of the Academic Catalog. Amounts vary.
Federal Pell Grant
Eligibility for this grant is determined by criteria set by the federal government. The award amount will decrease if a student is not enrolled full-time. This financial aid award is a grant and does not need to be repaid. Maximum award for 2012-2011: $5550.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
This need-based grant does not need to be repaid. Students must be enrolled full-time. Priority is given to Pell Grant Recipients. Maximum award: $1200.
State Grants
Eligibility for these grants is determined by each state. State grants will not be awarded until the school receives a roster from the state agency. Mass Grant recipients must be enrolled full time; they and their parents must be Massachusetts residents. Amount varies by state.
Gilbert Grant
This need-based MA state grant does not need to be repaid. To be eligible, students and parents must be Massachusetts state residents and the student must be enrolled full time. Maximum award: $2000.
Federal Work-Study
This federal need-based work program allows students to work on and off campus. Students are notified at the beginning of the school year how to apply for positions and are paid for the hours they have worked every two weeks. This award is not deducted from students’ bills; the funds are paid directly to the student. Maximum award: $1600.
Outside/Private Scholarships
There are many scholarships students can apply for to help supplement the cost of their educational expenses. Student research and initiative is required to locate and apply for these programs.
