The Financial Aid staff will notify you if you are selected for
verification by the United States Department of Education. At that time
you will have 60 days to submit required documents such as your 2007 federal
tax returns. We may also ask you to document other things such as untaxed
income or citizenship status. If you do not respond to our requests for
verification materials in the time specified, any actual or tentative
award that you have received will be canceled.
Providing Parents' Information
Wentworth Institute of Technology adheres to the basic premise that you,
your spouse, and your parents have the primary responsibility for
financing your education. Financial aid is intended to assist with the
educational expenses that remain after your family's resources have been
considered. Therefore, all applicants must provide their parents'
information when completing the FAFSA. Exceptions to providing parental
information will be made for students who can answer "yes" to any of the
questions in step three of the FAFSA. These exceptions include being over
the age of 24, an orphan, a veteran, married, or having dependents of your
own.
If you are chosen for verification you will be asked to fill out
additional forms. Go to our forms page to
download these documents.
