FAFSA FILING OPTIONS:
• ONLINE FAFSA
The fastest way to apply is online. File online at
www.fafsa.ed.gov. Your answers are automatically edited resulting
in fewer mistakes. If you filed online last year, the U.S. Department of
Education will send you a PIN. The PIN will give you online access to your
Renewal FAFSA. The PIN can also be used to sign your Renewal FAFSA online.
If you are required to submit a parent’s signature, you must still print
out a signature page and mail it to the address specified.
If you filed online last year and did not receive a PIN, please refer to
the PIN website at
http://pin.ed.gov to request a PIN. This website also can answer any
other PIN related questions you may have. If this is your first time
filing online, you must request a PIN to submit your signature
electronically.
• PAPER RENEWAL FAFSA
If you filed a paper FAFSA last year, the U.S. Department of Education
will send you a paper renewal FAFSA. Just review the information printed
on your Renewal FAFSA and make any necessary corrections. You must provide
the required signatures on the Renewal FAFSA and mail it to the address
listed on the form.
• PAPER FAFSA
Forms are available from your local high school as well as the Wentworth
Institute of Technology Student Service Center. Please follow all
instructions carefully. The paper FAFSA is more prone to error. Mistakes
and missing information will result in processing delays.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION AFTER FILING
Approximately three to five weeks after filing the FAFSA, you will receive
a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the U.S. Department
of Education. The SAR contains all of the information reported on your
2008-2009 FAFSA. By including the WIT school code (002225) on the FAFSA, your
information will automatically be sent to Wentworth. Please review your
Student Aid Report and make any necessary corrections.
If you do not receive the SAR within the above mentioned time frame, please
access the FAFSA website and select the "Check My Submitted FAFSA option".
You may also call the FAFSA Processor at 1-800-433-3243 for assistance.
* Please note that the
2008-2009 SAR will be printed on GREEN paper.
