Healthy Living at Wentworth

At Wentworth, we work hard to provide the very best health services. In addition to expert primary medical care, we also offer specialized services including counseling, disability services and comprehensive health education.

Harvard Vanguard Student Health Services
Harvard Vanguard Student Health Services (HVSHS) provides primary medical care services to students enrolled at Wentworth. Students may use HVSHS for diagnosis and treatment of both short and long term illnesses and for preventive care. HVSHS is located on campus in Watson Hall (003) and is open Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Call 617-989-4070 to make an appointment.

HVSHS offers a broad range of primary care medical services. Most of these services are provided to Wentworth students at no charge, although follow-up specialty care and ancillary testing (labs, x-rays) are typically not covered and will be billed to the student or student’s insurance company.

The primary clinician at HVSHS is a Nurse Practitioner with extensive student health experience. In addition, a medical doctor sees patients at HVSHS every Thursday morning.

Wentworth students also have access to medical care at Harvard Vanguard's Kenmore practice (133 Brookline Avenue) when HVSHS is not open. This would include:

Weekday mornings from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Weekday evenings from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sundays and holidays from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

When using the Harvard Vanguard Kenmore practice, students should identify themselves as a Wentworth student by presenting a validated Wentworth photo identification card. Students are also encouraged to carry their insurance card.

Medical advice via phone is also available during times when neither HVSHS nor the Harvard Vanguard Kenmore practice are open. This can be accessed by dialing the main HVSHS telephone number 617-989-4070.

In the case of a life-threatening emergency, students should immediately contact Wentworth Office of Public Safety at 617-989-4400.

Counseling Center
Professional counseling services are available free of charge to students. The Counseling Center is open Monday through Friday, and provides assistance in areas including personal concerns, anxiety and depression, problems in relationships, academic difficulties, and decisions about major and career.

Office of Wellness Education
The Office of Wellness Education provides information on health and wellness topics in an effort to promote healthy activities and lifestyles that enhance personal success and growth.
