What application do I need to file?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which
is available from your high school guidance office, or from Wentworth's
Student Service Center.

When should I apply for aid?
Complete the FAFSA as early as possible after January 1.

What types of aid are available?
Grants or Scholarships: Sources are federal, state and institutional.
These funds are credited directly to tuition and do not have to
be repaid.
Loans: Sources of loans are federal, state or private. Loan funds must
be repaid. Some loans have a grace period that allows students to defer
repayment until after they have graduated. Some loans are available to
parents.
Work-Study: This is a federal program that is awarded to students who
meet eligibility guidelines established by the Financial Aid Office.
Students can obtain a job on campus and are paid bi weekly.

Does Wentworth offer scholarships based
on merit?
Yes. Students are automatically considered for Wentworth Academic
Achievement scholarships based merit or on the competitiveness of
their application for admission. In addition, we have two merit-based
scholarships -Arioch and the President's Scholarship - that require
a separate application. All students receive information regarding
these scholarships in December.

Are there other sources of aid?
Yes. We suggest you check with the following sources for more
information: your guidance office, local library, the Higher Education
Information Center (located in the Boston Public Library, Copley
Square) and the Internet. As part of your Internet search, be sure
to visit www.finaid.org.

What can I do if I don't receive
financial aid?
You can apply for alternative
financing or set up a payment
plan through Tuition Management Systems.

Why are you asking for tax info, etc
?
Federal regulations require us to verify certain information
and documents.

When will my financial aid disburse?
Provided all paperwork is complete, disbursements generally
occur six weeks into each semester.

When will I receive my bill?
Bills will be mailed mid-June for the Fall semester and mid-November
for the Spring semester.

What happens if my account is not paid
in full by the due date?
You are not officially registered. You cannot attend classes
or move into the residence halls until full payment is received.
Failure to pay tuition and fees by the due date will result in cancellation
of your class schedule.

How long will it be before Financial Aid
is awarded?
New students start to receive awards in March; returning students
start to receive awards in May, or once all of the paperwork is
complete.
