1. Have a complete application for financial aid on file at Wentworth.
2. Demonstrate financial need, except for some loan programs. (see below)
3. Be admitted or enrolled in a degree program and be taking at least 6 credit hours per semester (Federal Pell Grant requires only 3 credit hours per semester minimum)
4. Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
5. Have a valid Social Security Number.
6. Be making satisfactory academic progress. (see below)
7. Be registered with Selective Service
8. Not be in default on a student loan or owe a refund or federal aid at any institution
9. Sign a statement on the FAFSA certifying that you will use federal student aid only for educational purposes

Satisfactory Academic Progress
After two semesters students must have an overall institutional cumulative grade point average of 1.75 or higher. After four semesters students must have an overall institutional cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher. In addition, all students must complete, with a passing grade, at least 66% of all courses attempted. If a student withdraws from a course after the end of the add/drop period for the given semester, those credits will be considered attempted. All credit bearing courses taken at Wentworth will be considered regardless of change in major. To regain eligibility for financial aid a student must complete course work that will bring them up to the above listed standards.

Financial Need - How the FAFSA is evaluated
All students who wish to receive financial aid must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The federal processor uses this information to determine your expected family contribution (EFC). It includes contribution amounts for both parents and students. Wentworth determines the amount of your financial aid package by subtracting your EFC from the total cost of your education for one year.

Cost of Attendance - EFC = Financial Need

Each school determines its own Cost of Attendance. This figure includes tuition, fees, travel expenses, books, living expenses, and personal expenses. The amount will vary depending on whether you plan to live on campus or commute from home. Because each school has a different cost of attendance, your financial need will vary from school to school.

Please note: the demonstration of need is not a guarantee of financial aid. The amount of resources that Wentworth has available also plays a role. Your and your family's resources, to the extent possible, are utilized first in meeting your college expenses.
