DPCS Adjunct Faculty

Mario Gonzalez, B.Sc.

Mario Gonzalez earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is also Certified in Massachusetts, in Secondary Education in Math and Sciences, grades nine through twelve. Gonzalez completed courses at Wentworth Institute of Technology in PASCAL, C++, Data Structure and Database Management, in addition to completing an Introduction to Statistics course at Harvard Extension School.

Gonzalez is currently employed by Tufts University as a Programmer/Analyst. In this role, he provides programming and technical support for various administrative systems used by Student Services. Amongst his accomplishments as Programmer/Analyst, Gonzalez has created a 3rd Party Billing system and an Online Student Tutor Finder.

Prior to his employ at Tufts University, Gonzalez worked for COLLEGIS at Wentworth Institute of Technology, as an Applications Programmer/Analyst. His responsibilities included executing and maintaining application programs, creating custom applications, writing report and label routines, diagnosing and solving system problems, user training and installing software updates and bug fixes. He also fashioned Application programs that are used by Admissions, to track events, scholarships and telemarketing contacts.

Gonzalez taught Introduction to Computers and Programming at Wentworth Institute of Technology in both the Day and Evening/weekend College and currently teaches Computer Programming with Visual Basic for DPCS. He has taught Physics and Physical Science for grades seven through twelve at the Boston Latin Academy.

Gonzalez has made several presentations at regional and national admissions and registrar conferences, on report creation with PC applications. He has also been involved in community projects, providing computer support for a crisis pregnancy center and creating an Access Database for the Malden, Massachusetts YMCA.
