Co-op - How It Works

Who:
All full-time day students pursuing a bachelor's degree must complete two four-month co-op semesters in their major. One additional semester of co-op is optional.

When:
For four-year students, co-ops are scheduled for spring of their junior year and fall of their senior year. Five-year students participate in co-op the summer after their third year and the summer after their fourth year. Transfer students must attend Wentworth for at least one semester before they are eligible for co-op.

Where:
Co-op can be completed anyplace the right position exists - in Boston, in a your hometown, or anywhere in the world.

How:

1. Participate in co-op orientation
2. Attend workshops in resume writing, interviewing and job searching
3. Write your resume
4. Meet with your co-op coordinator, who will help develop job leads from Wentworth's database. At the same time, develop your own leads.
5. Follow-up all leads
6. Research and interview for positions
7. Accept the best position
8. Do a great job!
9. Complete necessary paperwork and meet with your co-op coordinator.

Permanent placement:

The Career Planning Office has a number of services available to graduating students and alumni, including a computerized job bank, the annual career fair, and on/off campus recruitment.
