This past weekend My cousin Chris got married in D.C!

My cousin Chris’s dad and my dad are twins so growing up Chris was more of a brother to me than a cousin. With that said I couldn’t be more happy that he is now married to a wonderful girl who fits in perfectly with our huge fun loving Italian family!

While in D.C. I had time to visit monuments and museums with my family. I hadn’t been in the area for almost 10 years so it was really great to have a refresh visit to such an important part of our country! Here are some pictures from my trip!

This is a picture I took during the changing of the guards at Arlington Cemetery. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier has a security detail at all times, everyday of the year. There is a ceremony during the changing of the guards which happens every 30 minutes rain/ snow/ or shine.

This is a picture of the gravestones in Arlington Cemetery. This view is very famous because you can see that no matter what direction you look in the stones are perfectly aligned. This view is remarkable and absolutely took my breath away.

This is the National Archives, the home of the Declaration of Independence….Can you say, National Treasure?

I’m home from Vegas, but I wish I could go back!

I had so much fun during my trip to Vegas and I wish it could have lasted a lot longer! I spent a lot fo the trip walking the strip, because there was so much to see! Even though I am not a design major, going to a design school and dating an architect makes me appreciate design, and in Vegas there is LOTS to see in that department! I decided that I want to build a house now and use the City Center design and make it my own. Its just so beautiful! While in Vegas I did a little bit of gambling but its mostly consisted of slot machines. One time I won a whole $3 and felt like a hero because of it! …of course I lost it a minute later, but that was the extent of my gambling experience….I’m not a fan of the idea of losing all my money while in college, but that’s just me! :]

Now that I’m back home I took today to rest up after all the late nights! Our last night of vacation the whole group of us decided to pull and all nighter! Most everyone had to leave for the airport at 7:30-8ish and after a few nights of staying out till 5:30 we figured there was no point in sleeping. (Vegas never shuts down, nothing ever closes!!) The flight home was long enough for me to catch up on sleep and feel fine by the time I got back to Boston, but today I was not a fan of getting out of bed!

This is the view from the Palms Hotel, which is where we stayed the first night. It is a little bit away from the Vegas Strip however for the first night, my first time in Vegas it was a great view that got me excited for the rest of the trip!

Hi all! Sorry its been a few weeks I have been so busy! I am working at a law firm Monday through Thursday and and working in Admissions for my co-op on Fridays as well as throughout the week virtually, with all that and life not stopping around me…all day…everyday, is insane!!! Even though i’m starting to see what people mean about there not being enough time in the day, some cool things are going to be happening soon!

Last weekend one of my old friends from high school came to town for a concert and we were able to meet up and head spend the night out on the town! My boyfriend, friends, his two friends, and his sister all went out downtown and had a great night. This weekend my boyfrined and I are going to have lobster night with some of our friends that we haven’t been able to see in a while. Lobster is amazing and so aren’t our friends so it should be a really good night! Following Lobster night there is going to be the St. Patty’s day parade in Southy on Sunday. I have been invited to Southy for St. Patty’s day get togethers by three different people who live there so it is going to be a blast! One of my other high school friends is going to e visiting some of his frat brothers in Southy so I am going to meet up with him as well. His school is on Spring Break next week so he’s in the area and I am so excited becuase he goes to school in NY which is wayyy far away and keeps us from hanging out as often as we would like to!

After having such busy weeks, it is nice to have plans during the weekend, it makes my insane schedule a lot easier because I see it as getting through the week to be rewarded with seeing friends and having fun for two days! In a few weeks I will be having a long weekend becuase I will be is VEGAS!!!! more about that later…

I hope to have pleanty of pictures from this weekend and I will without a doubt post them at the beg. of next week! Be prepared for some messy lobster and lots of green in the pictures!!!

Last weekend I went home for some indoor skydiving! My mom’s birthday was on the 17th and one thing she wanted to do was try out the indoor skydiving so that’s what we did! A group of 10 of us did it and had a blast! Family members from age 18- 72 took part in the festivities and I think we will all remember it! Doing this makes me want to go real skydiving outdoor but I’m not sure if I will ever get the guts to do it! The website to the indoor place we went is www.skyventurenh.com if you want to check it out!

Before we went indoor skydiving, I was able to see some family members. One of my cousins has a four yr old son and a baby so I got to see them which was awesome because it was Caleb’s (the 4 yr old) birthday!

I got Caleb new Red Sox gear for his birthday! He’s getting bigger and bigger almost everyday because of his age so he grew out of his old Red Sox gear. When Caleb started talking I think he knew all the Red Sox players names before any of his family members names, so he needs to have Red Sox stuff to wear. Plus he will play for the Red Sox someday….he told me so! Here’s a picture of him in his new gear! I love the wally hat and Caleb thinks that because I live in Boston I live with Wally so I knew he’d love it! Next to the picture of him is a picture of me holding his baby sister Ava. Shes a little princess and is very lucky to have such an awesome big brother!

So I finally have the guts to talk about something I think is pretty important. Animals. Family pets more specifically.

My family pets have always been a large part of my life. Growing up I always had a dog and a cat. We had an array of fish because I was young and couldn’t keep them alive, as well as a rat. Well, the rat wasn’t a family pet it was my little sisters pet. I never held her but it lived in my parents house with the dog and the cat so I guess the rat was a pet…a gross/wierd/ugly pet…but still a pet. Anywway our dog and cat are a part of our family.

When I was in elementry school we got a dog named Zach, a little yellow-lab and if you’ve ever seen the movie Marley & Me…Marley and Zach are practically the same dog only Zach wasn’t trained to ruin the house and be a complete clown….it came naturally for him. We got Zach as a puppy and he grew up with my family. He became part of the family and although Zach had 4 legs he was the only brother I’d ever had. Last Wednesday Zach went up to doggy heaven to be with Murphy, our previous dog we lost way back when I was in my first years of elementary school. I don’t think losing Murphy was as hard on me as losing Zach becuase I was so young and didnt see Murph grow from being a puppy to being an old man like I did with Zach. Losing Zach showed me how much animals can  influence peoples lives. Anyone who came to our house would have a nice warm greeting from Zach and while he was snuggling up and excited for someone new coming around  to play with, being slimed by his drool was inevitable.

I was lucky becuase the weekend before Zach passed I went home to visit my family. I layed down on the couch and lifted Zach up next to me so we were able to lay down and snuggle for a little while before I went back to the city. I think it is wierd that I decided it would be a good weekend to visit but I am so happy that I was able to ge home and visit one more time.  I’m not sure how much more I can write about because everything is still so fresh however I wasnt sure what else to share with you.The importance of pets and how much they influence our lives has been on my mind so I figured that this would be a good thing to write about. With that I’ll stop becuase I know this has already gotten to be pretty lengthly but give your pets/ family members kisses becuase their importance to you might not be recognized until after they are gone!

This semester I am on coop. For my coop I am working in Wentworths Admission’s Office doing a lot of different things that will hopefully make perspective students more informed and excited about joining the Wentworth family. This coop position will teach me a lot about time management, office skills, and various other aspects that are important when being a successful manager. Time management is huge because I am not only working with the school, but I am also working at a Law Firm four days a week. It is nice to work and I love not having any classes so this semester should go by quickly and be pretty positive overall!

Some things to look forward to other than working are a couple trips I have planned! The end of March I am going to be heading to Las Vegas with my boyfriend and some of his friends! I have never been to Las Vegas however I have heard really cool stories so I can not wait!  The movie “The Hangover” is hilarious and takes place in Las Vegas so seeing that and then deciding on going on the trip was really cool! Anyway, that should be a good tme. Also In April two weeks after Vegas, I will be going down to D.C. for my cousin’s wedding. My cousin has always been more like a brother to me (our dad’s are twins) so seeing him get married to such a sweetheart who is without a doubt already a Vinciguerra is going to be very good time!

That’s it for now, I have to get back to work! take care!!

Hi friends!

Unfortunately it has been a very long time since my last post, but things have been very crazy and I am surprised I have even found the time to breathe! Here is a very quick update on everything…

  • First off- no more broken foot! (for now, that’s what they said last year)
  • I did well in all my classes and finals went very well! I spent a TON of time studying, so it is nice to see hard work pay off!
  • I went home for Christmas and spent a lot of time with family I rarely see and new family members who were recently born…(ADORABLE!!!)
  • My birthday was on 1/2. I turned 21 and although I came back to the city after Christmas to work for a few days, I decided to go home and spend my birthday with family again. My grandmother and I have the same birthday and I could never see myself spending the day with anyone other than her! We did a wine tasting at a local winery in Lee, NH and then went out to eat at an amazing Italian restaurant! I had a large group of people attend both the wine tasting and the dinner and it was very very fun…and delicious! :]
  • Now im back working part-time and trying to make some extra money since I’m a thriving college student living in a city.

As you can see I’ve been very busy, as I’m sure most everyone has been the last month or so! Coming up this semester I’ll be on co-op and out of classes. I haven’t made any co-op decisions yet, but stay tuned! :]

I don’t have much more time because I have to get back to work. I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday and I wish you all a very VERY Happy New Year!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving all!

I know it is a few days late but it doesn’t hurt to be extra thankful! I have had an amazing and much needed Thanksgiving week. Last Sunday, 11/22 I started the week off by heading over the the Boston House of Blues to see Joshua Radin in concert. Joshua Radin is fantastic and the show was everything I wanted and more! I am very lucky to have had such a great guy buy the tickets for us, and although he never really knew who Joshua Radin was in the past, I think he enjoyed himself as well!

Monday and Tuesday I had classes and those went very smoothly. I was able to get out of school by 10:30am on Tuesday giving me pleanty of time to pack for home! Tuesday night i went home and had an awesome lobster dinner! Maine Lobster…mmm nothing beats it! Coming home is always nice, however it means I have to catch up on all my doctors appointments so that what I spent my Wednesday doing. Thanksgiving on Thursday was awesome and it was great to see all my family and spend a nice day together. Thursday night I ended up going to the movies with my mom and younger sister to see New Moon. I personally have never read any of the books, but I did see the first movie which I thought was good, so I figured why not see the next one? I liked the movie, I’m not going to read any of the books in the near future esp. with finals just around the corner, but maybe one day I’ll pick one up and see why so many people go absolutely crazy over them and see the differences between the book and the movie. Moving onto Friday…My two sisters and I went over to my aunt’s house to have lunch and spend some time, because she wasn’t able to go to our Thanksgiving. My aunt got two really cute new dogs I have wanted to see, so I finally was able to get that done! Friday night I babysat two little boys who were very cute. they were 2 & 6 yrs old and were the best of friends. When you babysit siblings that get along, it makes thing sooo much easier!

As for today, I finally was able to sleep in! When I got up, I went shopping with my mom and younger sister for some new clothes. I made out very well! After shopping all afternoon I came home to my dad and his twin brothers family here making a nice dinner for my last night home! My cousin has a 6month old baby boy I adore and seeing them all was a pleasant surprise!

This might possibly be one of the best Thanksgiving weeks I have ever had….

Nov 13

Guess what? I got the cast off! It feels great to finally be able to walk again! I went from the cast to a walking boot. Even though its not perfectly all better, it beats crutches!

Last weekend my little sister came to my apartment to visit. She goes to college in Maine so it was really nice for her to come down and spend the night! We weren’t able to do too much since I couldn’t walk around the city too well, so we stayed in watching the Saw movies and catching up.  Until this year I had only ever lived with my sisters and with other girls at school, and now that I live with a guy, it was really nice to have some girl time. Next time I think I should visit her school since it is out of the city and in the middle of nowhere, haha.

This semester as flown by so fast! I can’t believe next semester I will be on Co-op….mostly becuase I havent found a co-op job yet. (If you’re hiring let me know! :] ) Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away, closely followed by Christmas…how crazy is that? I feel like school just started and it should still be sunny and 80…I wish anyway! The past two days it has gotten pretty chilly out which just means that snow is coming…ahhh! I don’t want snow yet…how about it starts snowing December 22nd and stops December 26th? Sounds like a plan to me!

Oct 30

Soo Halloween has arrived. I am not against it however seeing creepy people all over Boston dressed in too little….too much…or dressed down-right scary  is a little freaky. Aside from it being freaky however, it is also hilarious! Some people have the best costumes I have ever seen which usually makes me laugh. This year I have decided not to dress up or go out. It  is very difficult to get around on crutches and I think I would be annoyed all night because of the fact that I can’t walk, and I definitely do not want to slow down any of my friends…because of this hanging in and doing homework/catching up on some of my Tivo’d shows is going to be the pathetic Friday night I am going to have. I think it will be nice to be able to relax though!

School has been going alright. This week was easy, I didn’t have a lot of homework or anything like that to get done. It was a good break after mid-terms but usually after a week like this, the following week is known to be difficult, so next week should be interesting….

Tomorrow is our senior day for vball. We have one senior this year who is an amazing person and player! Last week she had her 2000th assist…which is HUGE! She will without a doubt be missed next year! On Saturday we are playing two teams. We have to beat one of them in order to make the playoffs, so I am really hoping that we get the opportunity to continue. This season has been a roller-coaster of Ups and Downs…despite everything all I know is that we have a great group of girls and hopefully the best scenario for our team will be the outcome of this weekend.

I think that’s enough for you all to read for now…Happy Halloween! :]
