Below are some of the highlights of the most recent alumni and special events from President Pantić's calendar.

Build Boston – November 2007
This year’s reception at Build Boston was a tremendous success. The record-breaking gathering of more than 400 attendees included alumni, faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and friends of Wentworth. A buffet of hors d’oeuvres was laid out in stations while waitstaff treated the crowd to cocktails and passed trays of treats. Wentworth Alumni Association (WAA) President Matt Kane, FMC ’96, introduced a brief program, which was followed by a greeting by President Pantić who thanked attendees for their support.
Campus Compact – November 2007
Dr. Pantić participated as a panelist for Campus Compact’s regional forum to discuss the Intersection of Civic Engagement and College Access. The event, which was hosted at Wentworth, brought together higher education, foundation and non-profit leaders, and college students to discuss their understanding of the connection between college access and civic engagement. Leaders focused on best practices, models and possibilities for partnerships between higher education and other sectors to promote and increase student access and success in higher education.

Mock Interview Day – October 2007
President Pantić attended the sixth annual Mock Interview Day, which provides an opportunity for students to practice their interview skills before potential employers. The event featured 77 employees from 54 companies, representing technology, engineering, design, architecture, and management disciplines, offering valuable feedback to 162 Wentworth students. The Office of Alumni Relations hosted a networking reception that followed the much anticipated Mock Interview Day.

Alumni Golf Tourney – September 2007
Wentworth alumni and friends gathered at this sold-out event at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, MA. Ninety-six golfers enjoyed a picture-perfect day with a great round of golf, dinner, awards reception, and a raffle.

President’s Cup Challenge – June 2007
The Mount Pleasant Country Club in Boylston, MA, hosted 86 golfers in this year’s President’s Cup Challenge. The golfers enjoyed a relaxing and beautiful day that concluded with an awards ceremony and dinner. This year’s tournament was a success due to the hard work of alumni volunteers on the Golf Committee. The volunteers attracted more golfers to this tournament than any other past President’s Cup Challenge.

Black & Gold Reunion Weekend – May 2007
Wentworth honored the class of ’57 graduates during ‘Black and Gold’ weekend, which recognizes alumni celebrating their 50th class reunion with induction into the “Black and Gold” Society. On May 11-13, alumni participated in a weekend full of events, reconnected with old friends and classmates, reminisced about their days attending Wentworth, and shared personal and professional highlights from the past 50 years.
American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) New England Meeting – April 2007
Making a Case for Engineering: It’s Great to be an Engineer
President Pantić’s talk explored the considerations that educators must factor into curricula decisions to compete in the evolving marketplace.

Society of Women Engineers Regional Conference – April 2007
Journey to Leadership
From an engineering student to the President of Wentworth Institute of Technology, President Pantić shared her story and discussed leadership, strategic networking, and the unlimited career opportunities in engineering.

William A. Berry and Son – April 2007
President Pantić visited Wentworth alumni at Berry and Son to provide an update on Wentworth, including recent successes and the Institute’s momentum. In addition, she met with the leadership team, who presented the first installment of a three-year scholarship pledge to benefit two construction management students each year.

Alumni Regional Receptions across the United States
Wentworth alumni recently reunited at a series of receptions around the country, including events in Arizona (Tucson and Phoenix); Florida (St. Petersburg, Naples, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando); California (San Diego, San Jose, and San Francisco); Rhode Island; New York; Massachusetts; and New Hampshire. President Pantić hosted the events, which were attended by many alumni and other special guests, including President Emeritus John Van Domelen and his wife, Naomi; Trustee George Chamillard, IE ’58; Trustee Emeritus Sinclair Weeks Jr.; President of the Wentworth Alumni Association Phil Brooks, AET ’90; Trustee George Chryssis, EET ’69; Trustee John Kelleher, AET ’61; Trustee Emeritus Robert Boyden, MC&TD ’52; Corporator Ed O’Leary, AC ’48, and Wentworth Alumni Association Director Gary Miller, AET ’77.

Scholarship Luncheon – April 2007
The Wentworth community gathered on Thursday, April 12, in Watson Auditorium to attend a Scholarship Luncheon honoring the generosity of Wentworth donors who have contributed to the Institute’s scholarship program and the students who so deservedly received those funds. [read more] [photo gallery]

Women in Science and Engineering (WISEBU) – March 2007
Lunches With Leaders
At this roundtable discussion, President Pantić spoke about her “journey to leadership,” how she overcame the barriers and challenges women face in academia, and her advice on how to succeed.

Women at Wentworth 35th Anniversary Celebration – March 2007
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the first female students’ arrival at Wentworth, which was celebrated with a dinner and reception on March 28. Guest speaker Shannon O’Brien, President of the Girl Scouts, Patriots’ Trail Council and former gubernatorial candidate, addressed the attendees with a speech about women and leadership. Remarks were also made by President Pantić, who presented the inaugural Women at Wentworth Award to Engineering Professor Regina Berkman. [read more] [photo gallery]

Alumni Basketball Games – March 2007
Former members of both the men’s and women’s basketball teams each played a full game in the newly renovated Tansey Gymnasium on March 24. Distinguished guests included former coaches Frank Nestor and Harry McShane; Professor Amos St. Germain; current men’s basketball coach Tom Devitt; and Athletic Director Lee Conrad. The family-oriented event provided a great opportunity for many alumni athletes to catch up with each other. [photo gallery]
Career Fair Alumni Reception – March 2007
The annual Wentworth Career Fair drew a record number of attendees for 2007, including many employers who were represented by Wentworth alumni. Following the fair, the attendees joined the Alumni Association Board of Directors for a reception. Both Greg Denon, Director of Career Services, and Philip Brooks, President of the Wentworth Alumni Association, spoke to express their gratitude to all of the committed alumni that provide a career network for all of our graduates.

Alumni Hockey Game – February 2007
On February 18, former Wentworth hockey players and their families gathered at Northeastern’s Matthews Arena to connect with their teammates for the annual Alumni Hockey Game, which was followed by a buffet dinner. Prior to the alumni game, President Pantić joined the Wentworth varsity team to congratulate them on a good season. [photo gallery]
