The Physical Plant controls the issuing of keys to new employees, supplying Housing with keys for Residential students, replacement of lost or broken keys, and can assist with office furniture locks and keys.  We ask that all key requests be placed through the work order system for proper recordkeeping.  Here are a few tips:

Students - contact your RA or RD for any key requests

New Employees - your keys will be requested by your Department Head and you will be asked to sign an "Employee Key Receipt and Agreement" form when issued.

Lost Keys - if you have lost your keys, please contact Public Safety immediately and file a report.  A determination will then be made of the level of risk associated with the lost keys and we will either provide replacement keys or change the locks if needed.  Students should inform their RDs of any loss and Faculty & Staff should inform their Department Heads as soon as possible.

Document Shredding Services

The Physical Plant Department manages all document shredding services for the Wentworth Campus.  We have secure bins that can be delivered to your office for disposing of your sensitive documents and then stored for removal by our contracted service provider. To request a bin, or a larger cleanout project, please submit a work order request online through your Department's requester.

(TIP - use "Record Management" craft when requesting this service).

Pest Control

Seasonal changes and improper food storage or disposal can draw unwanted pests into our buildings.  Physical Plant retains the services of a professional exterminator company to routinely monitor the buildings and grounds for signs of pests and address any reports of pest activity.

Please follow these simple Pest Control Tips and report any problems promptly.

Pest Control Tips:

  • Do not eat in offices – crumbs will attract pests.
  • Dispose of garbage in appropriate trash receptacles.
  • Interior plants must be maintained to reduce infestation.
  • Help prevent entry opportunities to pests.

Report a Pest Problem:

  • Academic Campus - faculty and staff can submit an online request through  their department’s  requester(s).
  • Residence Halls & Apartments – students should report all pest issues to their RA or RD immediately, so that they can investigate the issue and file a request for service.
