Fitness Center Temporarily Closed
The Douglas D. Schumann Fitness Center will be active with construction workers the next three-plus weeks as the facility is closed for renovations.
“The Fitness Center is closed so that we can expand an incredibly busy space,” said Mike Williams, director of Schumann Fitness Center, Student Affairs.
The fitness center, which is welcome to Wentworth, MassArt, and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, opened in March 2012. Since that time, said Williams, “we have seen the number of visits each year rise close to 100,000 per year… an incredible number for a facility of that size.”
After the construction is complete, students can enjoy an additional 200 square feet of space in order to “reduce congestion in the free weight area,” Williams explained. Normal hours will resume following a September 8 reopening.
