Polytechnic Summit Call for Abstracts
Wentworth is hosting the sixth annual Polytechnic Summit 2014 on June 11-13. Last year’s successful Summit brought together over 350 attendees, including faculty, students, and administrators, from across the country to share perspectives and initiatives concerning polytechnic education.
This year’s conference theme, “Who Moved My Classroom? Rethinking Polytechnic Education,” looks at how polytechnics are contributing and/or responding to the current “disruptive innovation” that is reshaping higher education. Wentworth, with its ongoing lab construction and renovation, its EPIC Learning initiative, and its evolving degree programs, has much to contribute to that conversation.
The Call for Abstracts for the 2014 Summit is now available and can be accessed at www.polytechnicsummit.org. The community can also get involved in the Summit by reviewing presentation proposals; encouraging colleagues at other schools to participate; helping organize meeting spaces; preparing signage; assembling information packets; and other volunteer opportunities.
If you would like to volunteer your services for the Summit, please contact either of the Planning Committee co-chairs, Karen Britton (617-989-4472, firstname.lastname@example.org) or Chuck Hotchkiss (617-989-4831, email@example.com). In the coming months, you will be hearing more from the Planning Committee about Polytechnic Summit 2014.
