Street Piano Photo Contest!

Street Pianos have popped up all over the city including this one on exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts

If you’ve gone for a stroll around the Wentworth area in the last week, or just about anywhere in Boston or Cambridge, you’ve likely come across a uniquely decorated piano or two adorned with a sign reading, “Play me, I’m yours!”

The musical instruments are currently on display as part of the Celebrity Series Street Piano exhibition. Each piano has been decorated by an artist and pianos closest to Wentworth can be found in front of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design residence hall, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts. A full list of locations can be found on the Celebrity Series website.

Because passersby are encouraged to sit down and tickle the ivories, we want you to take your own seat at one of the pianos and send it in for us to include on our Flickr page! All Wentworth students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate. At the end of the month, we will randomly draw a winner and a prize will be awarded. Please send photos to pics@wit.edu. But act fast! The pianos are only in town until Monday, October 14.

Congratulations are also in order for Wentworth student Deborah Massaro, the winner of last month’s “Best Decorated Residence Hall” photo contest! Deborah’s room, located at 555 Huntington Avenue, can be seen below.
