Wentworth Institute of Technology will hold a topping off ceremony to celebrate a construction project milestone for the William H. Flanagan Campus Center.

Members of the Wentworth community are invited to participate in the event. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and honored guests will have the opportunity to sign the beam prior to it being hoisted into place on the new campus center.

The Flanagan Campus Center will be a cornerstone of student life at Wentworth. The project includes a 40,000-square-foot renovation to the existing space and an 8,500-square-foot addition. The building will serve as the hub of student life and includes a fitness center, radio station, recreation center, dining hall, bookstore, meditation center, and meeting spaces for clubs, activities, and organizations.

Construction began in May and is scheduled to be completed in August 2012. The campus center is named for alumnus William H. Flanagan, a graduate from the Class of 1951.

Shawmut Design and Construction, Spagnolo Gisness & Associates, and Wentworth student representatives will also participate in the ceremony.
