In response to recent devastating earthquakes in Haiti, it has come to the attention of the Wentworth Community that this country, reportedly the poorest country in the western hemisphere, if not in the world, is in dire need of reconstruction assistance. Consistent with the Wentworth ideal of experiential learning and that portion of the Wentworth mission to train professionals in the construction industry, faculty and staff at Wentworth have developed a program to train Haitians to help themselves. The concept is to provide Project Management and Construction Management skills to a select group of Haitian nationals, selected by a committee in Haiti, who have agreed to return to Haiti to train other Haitian in these sorely needed skills. This will establish a core cadre of Haitians who can lead the country in its restoration efforts.
