Wentworth deeply appreciates all of the different ways that alumni (and friends) volunteer and participate in programs/events for both alumni and students — because we know that your time is a very valuable gift.
If you would like to either volunteer or participate in any of the ways listed below, please contact the Alumni Office at alumni@wit.edu, or call 1-800-ALUM-WIT.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Wentworth Alumni Association (WAA) Board & Committee Members
WAA Board Members act as liaisons between the Institute and Wentworth graduates, fostering leadership and fulfilling the Alumni Association’s mission. Board members commit to attending a monthly meeting and participating in one or more WAA committees.
WAA Committee Members develop programming for the Alumni Association. The different committees include Athletics, Awards, Communications, Finance, Student Relations, and Young Alumni.
Reunion Class Coordinators
Reunion Class Coordinators are Wentworth's direct link to their classmates. They generate class enthusiasm for Reunion, stay in touch with friends, and help classmates stay in touch with the Institute.
Regional Alumni Club Leaders and Members
You don't have to live in Boston to connect with the Wentworth community; alumni are all over the country! If you would like to start up an alumni club in your area, contact us — we'd be happy to help!
Alumni Career Mentors
Alumni Career Mentors share professional experiences and offer advice about career development to current students and other graduates.
Mock Interviewers
Held every fall semester, Mock Interview Day allows students to learn directly from alumni and other industry volunteers about interviewing techniques. Mock Interviewers volunteer to conduct practice interviews with students as they prepare for their first co-op experience. Sign up to be a mock interviewer.
Co-op Employers
As Wentworth alumni, you know the impact co-op has on launching a Wentworth student's career. Wentworth students are always looking for new ways to put their education to practice. As a co-op employer and an alum, you can have direct input on the professional direction of a current student. Alumni can serve as supervisors, where students are mentored in the workplace for four months. Alumni can also promote Wentworth's co-op program to their employer either directly or through Career Services.
Employers Who Recruit Entry-level and Experienced Talent
Alumni can support both Wentworth graduates and their employer by recruiting for entry-level and experienced job opportunities. It can be as easy as posting a job with Career Services through careerservices@wit.edu or as personal as coming to campus to talk directly with students about your employer and current job openings.
Guest Speakers
There are a wide variety of opportunities for you to share your area of expertise with the Wentworth community at special events. Alumni guest speakers provide students with firsthand knowledge about practical, real-world perspectives on dealing with a host of leadership challenges (often with an emphasis on technology and innovation.)
Donors of Corporate Gifts
Another way to participate is to talk to your corporation or foundation about endowing a scholarship, donating a major gift (or grant) to create endowments which could be named after the company or foundation, participating in Wentworth's co-op program, matching gifts for employees who have donated to Wentworth, and making in-kind gifts, such as equipment or food and supplies for events.
Other Ways to Participate and Get Involved
There are countless other ways to participate and reconnect with Wentworth. Submit a class note. Host a regional reception. Write an article for the magazine. Attend a campus event.
If you would like to either volunteer or participate in any of the ways listed above, or if you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the Alumni Office at alumni@wit.edu, or call 1-800-ALUM-WIT.
