Carolyn Manoukian, BFPM ’09, recently won the Emerging Leader Award from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), a professional development organization. Manoukian, who has belonged to the organization since she was a student, received the award at the ninth annual IFMA Awards of Excellence in May.

Today, Manoukian is an assistant project manager at healthcare provider Blue Cross Blue Shield, as well as an active volunteer with IFMA. Her colleagues at the organization nominated her because she is proactive with planning events and encourages others to join the 22,655-member worldwide organization.

The Emerging Leaders Award is given to an IFMA member who shows promise in her field and motivates others. It’s one of nine awards given each year by the Boston chapter of IFMA.

“It means a lot,” said Manoukian. “It’s very nice to know that my hard work was recognized and that people feel that I show promise and growth.
