ELEC315 - Object-Oriented Programming

This course introduces students to a set of tools and methods that enables engineers to build reliable, user-friendly, maintainable, well documented, reusable software systems. This course teaches these fundamental ideas through the object-oriented approach to programming using C++ and Java. Prerequisite: COMP120, Computer Science I Using C.

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to:

  1. Provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills to become a proficient C++ and JAVA programmer.

  2. The student will learn to transpose the physical problem domain into a hierarchy of objects.

  3. The student will learn industry standard software engineering techniques will be presented and used to architect the system design.

Student Outcomes

(b) Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.

(k) Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
