New Student Laptop Pickup
August 10, 2012
Welcome to Wentworth! To facilitate a smooth transition, students will be required to participate in the laptop distribution. At the distribution, you will be given your laptop and be guided through the initial steps essential for you to properly utilize your new laptop. Please bring your Wentworth student identification card with you when you come to pick up your laptop. We cannot issue you a laptop without your student identification card.
All new students are to receive their laptops on Friday, August 31, 2012, in the Tansey Gymnasium, based on an assigned time slot determined through participation at WOW Week events. This time slot is a planned part of Wentworth Orientation Week activities; you need not worry about missing any of the WOW Week events. At that time, you will receive a new Lenovo W530 or Apple MacBook Pro – Please note: Applied Math majors will receive a MacBook Air; Management majors will receive a Lenovo T430s.
If you do not pick up your laptop on Friday, August 31, 2012, the next opportunity to do so will begin on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, from 9:00AM to 3:30PM at the DTS Help Desk, room 320 Beatty Hall (note change of location). Please bring your Wentworth student identification card with you when you come to pick up your laptop. At that time, identify yourself as a new student class member who missed laptop distribution.
Beginning September 7, 2012, you will need to make an appointment to pick up your laptop by calling the Division of Technology Services Help Desk at ext. 4500. When calling the Help Desk, identify yourself as a new student who missed Laptop Distribution.
If you do not contact the Help Desk and make arrangements to pick up your new laptop by the close of business on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, a hold may be placed on your account to prevent you from registering for classes or viewing grades online in the future. You will then need a form from the Student Service Center to present to the DTS Help Desk in order to pick up your new laptop.
Please note: All new students will receive a Targus laptop backpack carrying case that will accommodate either a Lenovo or Apple laptop. You will also receive a network cable as part of your initial setup. You can always find information about the program at the Laptop Program website, www.wit.edu/laptop or contact the Laptop Services Team at email@example.com if you have questions.
On behalf of the Laptop Distribution Team, thank you for your cooperation and best wishes for a successful academic year!
