Some of these functions are also accessible on the Web through the Business Link. These portals enable authorized staff to view, manage, and extract the business information they need. Each user’s menu is based on job function, and access to services is controlled by the business office responsible for the service.
Banner is at the center of the Administrative Support solutions at Wentworth Institute of Technology. However, the use of Banner is extended by additional systems and software, some of which are created in-house. Most faculty enjoy using the Advising Sheet, Degree Audit, Class Lists and the Student Locator features that are available in Faculty Services.
Argos is a web-enabled reporting solution used to extract data from the Banner system. The tool is supported on PCs and on Macs with a Windows Emulator. The recommended browser is Internet Explorer, although both Firefox and Chrome are supported with specific add-ons installed. This tool is generally available 24 hours a day except during scheduled maintenance periods, upgrades or when there is a need to restart the system.
