Print Quota FAQ's
You will not be able to print until you refill your print quota. Print quotas can be refilled by using Fenway Cash from your Fenway Card; asking a friend to transfer money from their quota to yours, or waiting until next semester when your print quota is refilled with the semester quota.
Students can check online through the Wentworth Print Accounting website at: http://print.wit.edu
Your login information is your WIT Network Account (same username and password as LConnect or E-Mail.)
Once logged in you can check your remaining balance as well as other information about your printing usage, refill your quota, even transfer some of your quota to other students.
You can also download a widget for your computer that will display the current balance of your quota and help you manage your balance.
You can download the quota widget through the Online Software Distribution channel in LConnect.
The unused portion of your quota will be rolled over into the next semester and will rollover every semester until the student graduates. If a student withdraws prior to graduation, any unused balance is eliminated from their quota. The forfeited balance cannot be restored even if the same student re-enrolls at a later date.
Yes.
Quota refills for each semester will be done the first business day after the add/drop period ends at the start of each semester.
Students can add money to their print quota account with their Fenway Cash. Instructions for setting up a Fenway Cash account can be found here: http://www.fenwaycard.com/wentworth.htm
Once you have your Fenway Cash account setup you can transfer money into the print quota through the Wentworth Print Accounting website at http://print.wit.edu. After login, click the Add FenwayCash link from the menu. Your Fenway Cash account number will automatically be loaded into the screen. You can then select how much money you want to transfer into your print queue.
There are no refunds from your print quota back to your Fenway Cash.
There is a $1.00 minimum amount.
Printing from the plotter is charged according to the linear feet of paper used and is rounded up to the nearest whole foot amount. For example, a plotter print of 30”x36” is charged as three linear feet ($0.75). The 36” measurement is the width of the paper and the 30” length charge would round up to three linear feet.
The print quota system charges students by impression and two-sided piece of paper or duplex print is counted as two impressions. For example, a two-sided color letter print will cost $0.20. We are investigating how to implement a duplex printing credit in future semesters to further foster the conservation of paper.
Yes. If a print job did not go through and you were charged, you can request a refund by logging into the Wentworth Print Accounting site at http://print.wit.edu and then click the link for Recent Print Jobs. Find the print job that did not print out and click the refund button for that print job. Refunds must be requested within 24 hours of the print job and will be addressed within 2 business days. Refunds are not automatic and will be approved by DTS on a case-by-case basis.
If you sent a print job to a printer and it gets stuck in the queue and never prints, after three hours the print job will be automatically deleted and the charge for the print job will be reversed back to your account.
A $20 quota will be added to the general account for each student club. The logon for the shared account is given to the president of that student club who can share it with other student club members as they see fit. If the quota for the student club is exhausted, the student club president can request additional print quota from the Office of Student Leadership who will then submit the request to DTS for fulfillment. Please allow 2 business days for the additional quota requests to be processed.
The student club president can request an increase in the quota sufficient to handle the planned print job in advance by contacting the Office of Student Leadership with the details of the planned print job and the requested amount. The Office of Student Leadership will than forward the request to DTS for fulfillment. Please allow 2 business days for the additional quota requests to be processed.
Yes. Talk to your club advisor or job supervisor and ask them to email the DTS Help Desk a request to add you to their shared account. We will setup your access and notify you when it has been completed. You will need to install the PaperCut Widget from Online Software Distribution in order to select which account to bill when you print. If you don’t download the widget, no print jobs will be processed since the system will not know what account to bill.
First, your club advisor or job supervisor must request you have access to the shared account. Second, you must install the PaperCut Widget from Online Software Distribution. Third, after you click Print, a popup window will allow you to select if you are printing something personal or if it should be billed to a shared account.
If this occurs, please contact the DTS Help Desk with the details of the problem.
When the Copy Mail Center issues a new ID it changes the underlying ID number for your account. Sometimes it can take some time for the change to go through all the necessary systems on campus. If you were issued a new ID more than 48 hours ago and you still cannot access your account through the Wentworth Print Accounting site, please contact the DTS Help Desk with the details of your situation.
Please contact DTS through our Help Desk and we would be happy to work with you and see if any special exceptions need to be made.
