Service Learning Class Seeking Community Partner/Project
Construction management, Monica Snow
This Civil Engineering Technology course seeks to design/construct with wood/wood products, committing approximately 20 students for three hours per week or more during the Summer semester.
Civil Engineering, Jim Lambrechts
Civil Construction & Environment (Civil Engineering & Technology) American Society of Civil Engineers Students chapter seeks a project in which they can build, do layout and surveying and some design work, particularly using concrete, committing 5-15 students for 1-4 Saturdays to work during the Summer semester.

Garden of Art
The Garden of Art seeks a service learning course to create the foundational elements of a plan for the park including design, mock ups, surveying, a long term landscape program, implementation feasibility of lighting keeping in mind safety of those living in community and creating an inviting urban green space during the Spring 2011 semester.
ABCD Parker Hill/Fenway Neighborhood Service Center Video
ABCD Parker Hill/Fenway has a project for a service learning course to create a video for the agency to introduce and explain programs. The project will include filming events as they happen and conducting interviews with staff to put together a 10 minute video about the organization during the Spring 2011 semester.
Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical High School, Doreen Lobes
Bristol is seeking a project in which students in a service learning course design a state of the art “green building” for community use and for the students of Bristol Plymouth Regional High School. This multi-purpose center aspires to be a learning lab and showcase of clean and or renewable energy products and technologies offered and serviced in the industry. This project would encourage innovation and create opportunity for real life learning experience in which students work with admin, engineers and architects to help design the center. The project would culminate in a presentation of design ideas to a building committee, as well as demonstrate to high school students the abilities and opportunities at the college level.
Tobin Community Center, William Romond/John Jackson
The Tobin seeks service learning students to develop a planning process and design plan for a renovation of the Tobin Community Center’s rear yard, working with staff and volunteers on a design plan, budget and timeline to be presented for consideration at the close of the Spring 2011 semester.
Archdale Community Center, Donna Parker
In a project called Learn2Teach, Teach2Learn during the spring and summer, Archdale Community Center seeks a service learning course to participate in their program as mentors during July and August 2011. This program hires teenagers to be trained and teach technology topics to children ages 6-12 in community. As part of the program, students invent and build a prototype for a project that will help the community, working in project teams as Inventor Mentors to guide them through project, ideally individuals who enjoy inventing, creating, building with an enthusiasm to help motivate students.
