Ramp

About the Program

The Ramp-Up program is a new initiative housed at the Center for Community and Learning Partnerships. It is a six-week bridge program specifically geared toward Boston Public High School students majoring in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at Wentworth. During the program, students receive academic advising, mentoring, and tutoring, as well as direct instruction in composition, research methods, mathematics, and science. The afternoons were dedicated to creating a learning community among the students. Two Wentworth seniors, who were also Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) scholars, provided mentorship for the Ramp-Up students. Students also participated in a team-building exercise of building a robot and programming it to maneuver through a course.
