Wentworth engages with the surrounding communities of Mission Hill, Roxbury, and Fenway in various capacities and through many different channels. The biggest and most widespread example of this is the Community Work-Study Program. In 2011-2012, 97 students worked at 22 community organizations, serving not only members of our local communities, but of those all over Boston. Through programs like Community Work-Study, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), New Student Civic Engagement Program (NSCEP), and Alternative Spring Break, Wentworth students are well positioned to greatly support and participate in the communities surrounding them. In order to secure these opportunities for students, the Center works with many nonprofit organizations with varying missions; from health to education, athletics to economic, housing to environment, as well as many youth oriented organizations.
