Construction Management Firm A.J. Martini Praises Wentworth Education and Students

Wentworth and construction management firm A.J. Martini discussed the value and success of the Wentworth education during a luncheon meeting on Thursday, October 6.

Wentworth President Zorica Pantic, along with members of Wentworth’s Career Center, Alumni Relations office and Development office, shared time with A.J. Martini Chairman Paul J. Martini, President Bill Aalerud and other influential members of the construction firm.

The two sides attributed the success of Wentworth’s graduating students to the practice-oriented, hands-on style of education provided by the Institute.

“Wentworth is a specialty school that has done phenomenal things,” said Martini.  “Many of our employees, past, present and future, are Wentworth grads.”

Also present were 18 Wentworth alumni who have become influential employees of the firm.  Among the Wentworth graduates employed by A.J. Martini, three have become Vice Presidents and seven have been project managers.

After short introductions, Wentworth’s President Zorica Pantic spoke to the group and talked about her plans for the Institute.  Later, Vice President for Development Don Main discussed the history, present state, and future growth of the Institute.

“Wentworth will continue to grow through the contributions made to the centennial campaign” Main said.  “You’ll see some dramatic changes in the future.”

Since its founding in 1950, A.J. Martini, has been providing construction management and general contracting services to the corporate and institutional marketplace.  The company has become a leading employer for Wentworth co-op students and those who have recently graduated.

“We have life-ling partnerships with alumni,” said President Pantic of Wentworth’s relationship with alumni.  “This partnership enhances co-op placements for students, and results in life-long learning.”

As a sign of appreciation towards the alumni, those in attendance were presented with a copy of the Institute’s centennial history book, A Century of Honesty, Energy, Economy, System: Wentworth Institute of Technology, 1904-2004, which was published during the Institute’s centennial in 2004.  Chairman Paul Martini concluded the meeting with his thanks.

“We at A.J. Martini are in the business of processing information that comes in the form of drawings and specifications,” the chairman said.  “We try to work proactively, not reactively because construction is always a constant battle between private and public sectors.  Therefore, we help anybody who is communicating with our company on any level.”
