Boston, MA – November 6, 2009 – Wentworth Institute of Technology today announced their induction into the Massachusetts Building Congress (MBC) Hall of Fame for legacy contributions to the building industry and the community during the MBC's annual dinner gala.
Wentworth received recognition for having “trained generations of leaders in the design and construction industry, and is universally admired for its community service and civic engagement. The Institute is one of the design and construction industry’s best resources for advancing practice knowledge in the profession.”
“It’s truly an honor to be recognized by the Massachusetts Building Congress as an inductee into the Hall of Fame,” said Dr. Zorica Pantić, president of Wentworth. “As Wentworth continues to prepare and train students to become tomorrow’s leaders in construction management and related fields, including civil engineering technology and architecture, we are fortunate to have strong industry ties to and the active participation by many companies as part of the education students receive at the Institute.”
The MBC also inducted Bond Brothers, a fourth generation-led construction company, and J.C. Cannistraro LLC, one of the largest family-owned, privately-held mechanical contracting firms in the nation, into the MBC Hall of Fame. Nominated by MBC members and selected by a jury, the inductees join seven previously-enshrined MBC Hall of Fame members. The honorees were introduced by current Hall of Fame members including Symmes Maini & McKee Associates, Walsh Brothers, and the Marr Companies.
