Boston, MA – April 10, 2008 – Wentworth Institute of Technology hosted the annual “Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon” to honor student scholarship recipients and the generosity of the benefactors that make these invaluable contributions to the Institute’s scholarship programs. Attended by over 100 guests including scholarship recipients and donors, alumni, faculty, staff, and administration, the event provided an incredible opportunity for recipients to meet with the respective benefactors and thank them for supporting their Wentworth education.

Scholarship winners Emily Tang, recipient of the Chamillard-Mullen Student Endowment Scholarship, and Heather Powers, recipient of the Perini Corporation Scholarship, spoke at the luncheon about the positive impact these generous scholarships have had on their academic pursuits and educational experiences at Wentworth.
George M. Chamillard, IE ’58, Wentworth board of trustee member and benefactor of the Chamillard-Mullen Student Endowment Scholarship, and John Gerstenlauer, vice president of operations for the Perini Corporation, offered speeches that expressed their belief in philanthropy, the reasons why they support Wentworth, and their distinct desires to help Wentworth students excel academically.
