Boston, MA – October 24, 2007 – Wentworth Institute of Technology President, Dr. Zorica Pantić, has been awarded one of the prestigious Girl Scouts, Patriots’ Trail Council Annual Leading Women Awards, recognizing her accomplishments and leadership in the Boston community.
“I am truly honored to have received this award and to be in the company of such great leaders,” said Dr. Pantić. “I am proud of Wentworth’s partnership with the Girl Scouts, which is aimed at inspiring and attracting girls to science, technology, engineering, and math. We hope to open up new opportunities for many of these girls.”
Former Girl Scout Elizabeth Edwards served as this year’s keynote speaker and WCVB-TV’s Kelley Tuthill served as emcee for the event. The other remarkable women honored include Pam Hamlin of Arnold Worldwide, Debra Miller of Citizens Bank, Pam Salkovitz of Stride Rite Children’s Group, Addie Swartz of Between Productions and creator of Beacon Street Girls Book Series, and Beth Williams of Roxbury Technology Corporation.
The Leading Women Awards is Patriots’ Trail Council’s largest corporate fundraiser and support from this event helps fund a broad array of programs for 22,000 Girl Scouts in over 65 communities, including Boston.
