Wentworth Institute of Technology Inducts New Members into Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society
 

Boston, MA – August 9, 2007 – Wentworth Institute of Technology inducted 25 students from the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environment into the Wentworth Chapter of Sigma Lambda Chi, an international honor society for construction. To be inducted by a chapter, a student must be at least a junior and be in the upper 20 percent of their program.

“By induction into Sigma Lambda Chi, these students have demonstrated incredible effort and attained a high level of academic success as students in Wentworth’s construction management program,” said Dr. Craig Capano, Department Head of the Civil, Construction, and Environment Department. “These rising stars will be key leaders in the rapidly expanding and high growth market of the construction industry.”

The following Wentworth students are the newest inductees into Sigma Lambda Chi: Yilkal Behele, Oliver Cowie, Nathan Crowley, Craig Cunniff, Nicholas Cunningham, Rob Day, Charles Fagan, Michael Frongillo, Michael Gawendo, Steven Gelinas, Christian Jacobs, Brian Krasko, Heather Martin, Andrew Meade, Nicholas Melanchook, Jonathan Nickerson, Matthew Pirolli, Seth Porter, Christopher Richard, Nicholas Rouleau, Nathan Silva, Joseph Simon, Jesse Starnino, Daniel Staruk, and Adam Wood.

Also attending the installation ceremony, which was held on the main quadrangle on Wentworth’s campus, were Professors Henderson Pritchard, Thomas Taddeo, and E. Scott Sumner. Dr. Capano assisted in the installation ceremony.

Chapters of the honor society may be established at a school, college, or university that has a major discipline of education in construction. According to Sigma Lambda Chi’s international president, Wesley G. Crawford, there are 58 chapters and over 14,000 current members in the United States and Australia.
