Wentworth Signs Articulation Agreements with Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology

Improves Access to Programs and Courses

Boston, MA – June 15, 2007 – Wentworth Institute of Technology today announced that it has signed articulation agreements with Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (BFIT). The agreements will allow BFIT students, upon completion of a two-year associate’s degree program in electronics engineering technology or mechanical engineering technology, to enter Wentworth and easily transfer credits earned to pursue a baccalaureate degree in electronics engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology or computer engineering technology.

Complimenting the enhancements in transfer options, students from BFIT’s Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology will be able to access Wentworth upper level general education courses, providing additional educational opportunities. This agreement is built on the foundation and strength of cooperation and partnership in facilitating access to higher education, and in enriching the educational experiences for students.

“We strongly believe in forming strategic partnerships, and this is one of them aimed at providing access to academic excellence and support of the economic development of underdeveloped communities,” said Dr. Zorica Pantic, President of Wentworth. “The articulation agreements will allow for a seamless transfer from BFIT to Wentworth and the overall cooperation will enhance experiences of both BFIT and Wentworth students, faculty, and staff.”

“The signing of this agreement signifies a contract of trust and respect, and links the colleges together for the benefit of our students,” said Michael Taylor, President, Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. “Both schools are tremendous resources for preparing students to enter the workforce, and our students graduating with an associate’s degree can now easily pursue their bachelor’s degree.”

In June, Wentworth announced an articulation agreement with the New Hampshire Community Technical College-Manchester (NHCTC-Manchester) for Wentworth’s Facilities Planning and Management program within the Department of Design and Facilities.
