Wentworth Celebrates Spring Convocation
 
Suffolk Construction’s John F. Fish Delivers Commencement Address
 

Boston, MA – May 14, 2007 – Wentworth Institute of Technology held its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 12, 2007, on the quadrangle of Wentworth’s campus. Of the 181 students who graduated from the Institute, 105 students earned a Bachelor of Science degree, 45 students earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree, 30 students earned an Associate in Applied Science degree, and one student earned an Associate in Technology degree. The May commencement includes both February and May graduates. (See photos.)

Honorary Doctor of Engineering Technology degrees were conferred to John F. Fish, CEO and President of Suffolk Construction Company, and Robert H. Swanson, Jr., Associate in Production Engineering Technology ’59, founder and CEO of Linear Technology. In addition, Mr. Fish delivered an inspiring commencement address to the graduates, faculty, staff, family and friends in attendance, sharing personal recollections of starting his own company, applying his entrepreneurial spirit, and learning how to become an effective leader. In addition, he offered genuine, valuable advice to the graduates, based on his own professional experiences, about how to be successful as they enter the workforce.

The ceremony included the academic processional, conferring of honorary degrees, recognition of outstanding students, student address, presentation of graduates, conferring of degrees by President Zorica Pantic, conferring of honorary degrees to the Black and Gold Society, and the commencement address by Mr. Fish.

A second commencement ceremony is scheduled for August 18, 2007.
