Boston, MA – January 24, 2007 – Wentworth Institute of Technology today announced that it has signed an articulation agreement with the New Hampshire Community Technical College-Manchester (NHCTC-Manchester) for Wentworth’s Facilities Planning and Management program within the Department of Design and Facilities. Qualified students who have earned an Associate’s Degree in interior design at NHCTC-Manchester can enroll seamlessly into Wentworth’s Baccalaureate Degree program in the academic area of facilities planning and management (BFPM). Wentworth’s BFPM program is one of only eight in the world that meets the International Facilities Management Association’s standards for professional education.
The agreement will allow NHCTC-Manchester students to make informed course selection decisions that facilitate transfer mobility, maximize learning and educational access, and provide the opportunity for baccalaureate degree completion.
“We are excited about the opportunity to work with NHCTC and their graduates as they continue their education in facilities planning and management,” said Victoria Hardy, academic department head, department of design and facilities. “This agreement will be a tremendous advantage and benefit to all students and it is perfectly aligned to the department’s strategic growth plan, representing the first formal agreement for the program.”
“Our students are provided the opportunity to build upon their knowledge and expertise gained from their community college coursework and complete their bachelor degree requirements by easily transferring credits,” said Joanne Jagodowski, NHCTC-Manchester department chair, commercial design, illustration and applied arts. “Providing access and meeting students’ educational and career needs are at the core of this agreement, and it helps extend our newly created associate degree program in interior design.”
