Boston, MA – November 10, 2006 – Three Wentworth employees won awards at the Colleges of the Fenway 10 year anniversary celebration on Thursday, November 2, 2006. The celebration, which was held at Simmons College, was widely attended by faculty and staff from all six Colleges of the Fenway, as well as Mayor Thomas Menino, State Representative Jeffrey Sanchez, and Local Representative Michael Ross (see photos from the event).
John Heinstadt, Vice President of Business and Finance, received a "Catalyst" award for getting things done. Heinstadt said he was surprised and honored to receive the award. "From the beginning, I have seen the COF as something that can significantly broaden Wentworth's appeal to students and I have enjoyed working to implement COF initiatives."
Susan Morin, Human Resources Manager, won the "Unsung Hero Collaborator Award". "I am really very honored to receive the award considering there are so many people that I work with in my H.R. committee that contribute greatly to our success. I've been working on the COF H.R. committee for seven years and I enjoy it for so many different reasons. We really do collaborate to enhance each of our school’s benefits and programs. It's wonderful to work so closely with my colleagues at the other schools (many of whom I count as friends) as well as to network different issues and problems. Working on the COF committee has been a highlight of my career at Wentworth," said Morin.
Annamaria Wenner, Dean of Students, was awarded "Emerging Collaborator." "As a new member of the COF Deans Committee, I found myself bringing the unpopular topics to the table. I thought it important to talk about cross-campus incidents, holding all of our students accountable for their behavior regardless of which campus it occurs, and lastly addressing the issue of off-campus behavior, especially in Mission Hill. Unpopular topics are important, but not often award winning. To be selected to receive an this award, especially in the company of John Heinstadt and Susan Morin, was an incredible honor. I am look forward to continuing the collaboration with the other colleges and providing our students wonderful learning and living opportunities," said Wenner. |
