Filing a Complaint
Individuals who wish to pursue disciplinary charges against a student must file a written complaint with the Assistant Dean, Public Safety, or the Office of Housing and Residential Life. The complaint should be as detailed as possible, listing the individuals charged as well as any witnesses. The statement should include dates, times, locations and specific information of the behavior leading up to the complaint being filed. A Hearing Administrator will review the complaint to determine the most appropriate forum to resolve the dispute.
Complainants/victims are encouraged to discuss their concerns with staff members of the above mentioned offices or hearing administrator. Every effort is made to provide complainants/victims with appropriate support services. Individuals filing charges against a student must be prepared to face the accused regarding the issues at hand. Every attempt will be made to assure a safe hearing atmosphere in which the complainant will feel comfortable to confront the accused.
Be advised that students who knowingly file a false complaint will be subject to disciplinary action.
