Beijing International Education Expo

This three-day show was organized by the Beijing Educational Commission. More than 50,000 Chinese parents and their high school aged children attended.

President Pantić was one of the delegates seated on the podium for the opening ceremonies. She was joined by Beijing officials and international dignitaries from educational institutions. The forum on professional / technical education, where President Pantić gave a presentation on Wentworth and other technical institutes in the U.S, was the most highly-attended forum at the Expo, and included presentations from representatives from the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Australia and Canada.

The Wentworth booth, located in the American Pavilion, was attended by the President, Dr. Kuei-Wu Tsai, vice president of academic affairs & provost at Wentworth, and four other Wentworth representatives. An 8-minute Wentworth presentation translated into Mandarin played continuously at the booth. The presentation included interviews with Wentworth students and footage from several leading companies where Wentworth students are employed on co-op jobs.

The booth featured more than 20 photo enlargements which highlighted specific issues key to parents and students such as security, instructor attention, job opportunities, and Boston as a study destination. Handouts for visitors to the booth included a new admissions brochure, with Mandarin translation, and ceremonial pins linking China and the U.S. with Wentworth and the Expo.

Approximately 50 other United States schools attended the Expo including Stanford, University of Southern California, Minnesota, Salem State College and Harvard University to name a few.
