Welcome Families!

Your student leaving for college creates a change in your family and brings with it many questions, opportunities, and new situations. To help with that transition we offer Family Orientation for parents and families of First Year Students who are attending college for the first time (ie non-transfer). This will take place concurrently with your student’s orientation in July.

There is no separate registration for Family Orientation.  When your student registers themselves for Summer Orientation they will be asked to provide the names of up to four family members who will also be attending.  There are two sessions available for New Student Orientation: July 15 & 16 and July 29 & 30.

During Family Orientation you will learn more about academic requirements of your student, receive tips for transitioning, have conversations with other parents, learn how to help your student from afar, learn about our campus emergency preparedness plan, and much more. New Student Orientation is a two-day, overnight program.  Students will be staying in one of our residence halls.  Overnight accommodations for families is not provided, however there are several hotels in the area.
