Q: How does a Bachelor of Science in Management of Technology compare to a Bachelor of Arts in Management?

A Bachelor's degree in the arts and a Bachelor's degree in science are similar in that they both offer traditional business courses. The difference between a BS and a BA is the intense technical background a Bachelor's of science degree provides. Wentworth's ability to integrate business and technical courses into a degree program such as the Management of Technology program gives their students an advantage over a traditional business degree.
 

Q: Why should I choose Wentworth Institute of Technology as my college of choice?

With small classes, two required Co-op semesters, and a hands-on approach to teaching, Wentworth stands out from other schools. Wentworth's classes are smaller, allowing more time for students to create a positive relationship with their professors and colleagues. Wentworth's two required Co-op semesters allow students to apply the skills they have learned from their classes in real life situations (see the Co-op page for more details). Finally, with Wentworth's hands-on approach to teaching, students work in laboratories simulating actual situations that occur in the workplace.

Q: Is the Management of Technology program Accredited?

Yes, the Management of Technology program at Wentworth is accredited.  The program recently went through the accreditation program and was accredited as of Fall 2000. For more information on the programs accreditation click here.

Q: What benefits does Boston bring to a college experience?

Boston has over 60 different colleges and schools, with 350,000 students located in or around the city. This provides a vast amount of resources for students and professionals. Boston also provides plenty of entertainment to suit anyone's taste. For example, Boston is home to the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins along with plenty of nightlife and fine dining. There are also many museums, parks, and historical sites.

Q: What is a Co-op?

Co-op is an abbreviation for Cooperative Opportunity. The program is integrated into Wentworth's curriculum, and allows students to obtain significant work experience. For more information, go to the Co-op page of this site.

Q: How many students are in classes for the Management of Technology program?

Wentworth has small to medium size classes. Management of Technology courses range between twenty and twenty-five students. This atmosphere allows students to interact more with professors, and their classmates.

Q: What is there to do at Wentworth?

There are many different on-campus clubs for students to join as well numerous athletic teams. All sporting events are division III and include basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, and a championship hockey team, just to name a few. Wentworth hosts many on-campus events including spring weekend, senior week, comedians, movies, and bands. Students have access to pool tables and a wide screen TV in the Student Center located on campus. In addition, the city of Boston provides plenty of off-campus activities that are easily accessible from Wentworth.
 

Q: Is there technical support on campus?

There is so much to do in the city of Boston and at Wentworth. With the wide range of skills that students obtain, they will be able to become a major contribution when they take advantage of the three full Co-op semesters.
