History
Founded in 1904, Wentworth Institute of Technology has been a leader in
technology education for nearly a century.
Academic
Profile
An independent, coeducational college offering bachelor's degrees in 16
majors. All programs combine classes with laboratories or studios and
cooperative education. Colleges of the Fenway Member of one of Boston's
largest academic collaborations, the Colleges of the Fenway. Partnership
with Massachusetts College of Art, Emmanuel, Simmons, and Wheelock colleges,
and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences features cross-registration,
shared social events, and an expanded campus community.
Accreditation
Wentworth is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and
Colleges (NEASQ). Individual majors are accredited by the American Council
for Construction Education (ACCE), the Foundation for Interior Design
Education Research (FIDER), the National Architectural Accrediting Board
(NAAB), and the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation
Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET).
Enrollment
3,000 students (2,400 full-time) from 33 states and 71 countries. ALANA
(African, Latino/a, Asian, and Native American) enrollment is 16 percent
and international enrollment 8 percent. More than 1, 100 live in residence
halls on campus. 20 percent of our new students transfer from other colleges
and universities.
